As the deadly virus pandemic disrupts air travel around the world and clears out airport terminals, All Nippon Airways Co. ground staff at Tokyo's Haneda Airport are taking matters into their own hands.
The employees have busied themselves making face shields as a preventive measure against the spread of the virus.
Using A4-size transparent card cases and other items, they have fashioned the shields by hand during work breaks.
The protective gear will be provided to staff working at international boarding gates and personnel in charge of passengers who show a fever of 37.5 degrees or higher at security checks for domestic flights.
