A tree-lined street lit by 1.2 million LED lights is a glittering announcement that winter is at our doorstep.

The annual winter illuminations were switched on Nov. 7 at Keyakizaka street near Roppongi Hills in Tokyo’s Minato Ward.

When the sun goes down, the lights go on and switch from the winter colors of blue and white to the warm colors of red, yellow and orange and back again at intervals.

The street will dazzle until 11 p.m. every day through Christmas Day on Dec. 25.
