Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko hosted their autumn garden party in the Akasaka Estate in Tokyo on Nov. 9 with 2,000 guests including music producer Tetsuya Komuro in attendance.

In March, Komuro performed with children of a school for the visually impaired at a banquet for Akihito and Michiko during their visit to Hanoi.

At the autumn garden party, Emperor Akihito said to Komuro, “You have contributed a lot to Vietnam, haven't you?” and the producer responded by saying, “I hope to be a bridge (between Japan and Vietnam) continuously.”

Crown Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako, Prince Fumihito and Princess Kiko, and their eldest daughter, Princess Mako, were also in attendance.
