The title of the fourth season of the “Yowamushi Pedal” (Wimpy pedal) bicycle road-race anime adaptation has been announced as “Yowamushi Pedal Glory Line” ahead of its start in January 2018.

The anime is based on the manga of the same name by Wataru Watanabe currently running in the Weekly Shonen Champion comic anthology. It spawned an animated TV series in 2013, followed by the second season, “Yowamushi Pedal Grande Road,” in 2014.

The third season, “Yowamushi Pedal New Generation,” debuted in January 2017.

A direct follow-up to the third season, the upcoming series begins with the national inter-high school competition, which ended in a cliffhanger and left fans eagerly awaiting the next installments.

A key visual has also been unveiled, showing the protagonist, Sakamichi Onoda, and other members of the Sohoku Senior High School team and their rivals from the Hakone Academy club locked in a dead heat. Particularly of note is Sho Midosuji from the Kyoto-Fushimi team, who wears a scheming smile.

“Yowamushi Pedal Re:Generation,” a compilation anime film incorporating footage from the third season with some new sequences, was theatrically released for a limited time in October.
