The third season of the animated “Attack on Titan” TV series will start in July next year, following the release of the third anime film on Jan. 13.

The dates were announced on Oct. 29 at a special event in Tokyo. During the event, Yuki Kaji, who plays the protagonist, Eren, and other voice cast members joined a reading performance of the original story with an orchestra providing live musical scores from the anime.

A teaser visual for season 3 of the TV series shows a tied-up Eren kneeling on a pillar as Levi stands nearby and turns his head to a mysterious character in the front of the pillar.

The third anime film, which is a compilation of the second season of the TV anime, is titled “Attack on Titan: Season 2: Kakusei no Hoko” (The roar of awakening).

Set in a post-apocalyptic world, the story is about humanity’s desperate battle against human-devouring giants.
