The “Antiquarian Bookshop Biblia's Case Files” romantic and mystery light novel series is being adapted into a live-action feature film premiering nationwide in 2018.

Starring Haru Kuroki as Shioriko Shinokawa and Shuhei Nomura as Daisuke Goura, the film is based on the original novels written by En Mikami.

The story centers around Shinokawa, who runs the antiquarian bookshop in a far corner of Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, while she solves mysteries related to vintage books.

The novel series first became popular through word of mouth on Twitter and other social media. Currently boasting more than 6.4 million copies in print, the series also has won many awards.

Kuroki has played leading roles in many hits including the TV drama series “Sleepeeer Hit!” and films “The Great Passage” and “Silver Spoon.” Shinokawa's character is extremely shy, but is well-versed in antiquarian books and uses her knowledge to solve mysteries.

The film is directed by Yukiko Mishima.
