Seibu Railway Co. is teaming with anime studio TMS Entertainment Co. to produce an original short anime to promote its restaurant train service and tourist hotspots along its railroad line in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture, at home and abroad.

The studio, which is known for many hits including “Yowamushi Pedal,” is producing the title directed by “D-Frag!” and “Rin-ne” director Seiki Sugawara. “Haikyu!!” and “Erased” screenwriter Taku Kishimoto is writing the episode.

The romantic story is about a woman who has agreed to see a man to consider marrying him. But she decides to go to Chichibu in search of a boy whom she met when she was young.

Featured in the anime are the railway company’s restaurant train called “52 Seats of Happiness,” as well as major sightseeing spots in Chichibu such as the nature-rich Nagatoro area, historical Chichibujinja shrine and Hitsujiyama Koen park, which is renowned for the moss phlox in full bloom in the spring. It also shows the sea of clouds seen from Mitsuminejinja shrine near a mountaintop.

The 20-minute short will be streamed on Seibu Railway’s official website starting from March 2018. Subtitles in English, French and traditional Chinese will also be available.
