An online teaser for “Inuyashiki” indicates an action-packed live-action feature film adaptation of Hiroya Oku’s manga.

It shows an elderly man named Ichiro Inuyashiki, played by funnyman Noritake Kinashi, transform into a cyborg that flies through skyscrapers in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district.

The film will hit cinemas on April 20.

The story centers around Inuyashiki, an incompetent elderly man who is disrespected by his family and leads a life full of misery. But it all changes when he is caught up in a mysterious explosion. He not only survives the accident but also turns into a cyborg.

In the trailer, his back transforms into what appears to be a pair of rocket engines. Not knowing what is happening to himself, Inuyashiki flies in the skies over the metropolitan area as he shrieks in panic.

Hiro Shishigami, a mass murderer who has the same abilities as Inuyashiki, is portrayed by Takeru Sato.

The film is directed by Shinsuke Sato, whose past works include two live-action films based on Oku’s manga “Gantz.”

An animated TV series adaptation of “Inuyashiki” finished its run on Dec. 21.
