PYEONGCHANG, South Korea--Akito Watabe won his second straight Olympic silver medal in the Nordic combined event held on Feb. 14 at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

Eric Frenzel of Germany finished the 10-kilometer cross-country skiing portion of the event in a time of 24 minutes, 51.4 seconds to take his second straight Olympic gold medal.

Watabe, 29, who was the third skier to start based on the results of the ski jumping held earlier, moved up one place to finish 4.8 seconds behind Frenzel.

Lukas Klapfer of Austria took the bronze.
