OSAKA--Kansai International Airport will open three duty-free shops selling alcohol, tobacco and other goods produced overseas at the international arrival areas in the No. 1 and No. 2 terminals this spring.

Although the tax-exempt stores were previously limited to departure areas of airports, legislation has been modified so they can be set up at arrival zones as well, according to Kansai Airports, operator of the airport.

Narita Airport already introduced the first duty-free shops at arrival areas in Japan.
