BRASILIA--Crown Prince Naruhito landed here on the morning of March 18, a day before the World Water Forum where he will give a keynote speech on water and disaster.

After his journey in a commercial jet and before attending the forum, Naruhito visited an agriculture and stock raising center in the outskirts of the Brazilian capital on the afternoon on March 18 for the first time since 1982.

The prince was shown vast coffee and corn experimental farms and irrigation facilities at the center, where he also handled and took photographs of coffee beans.

Later on in the day, Naruhito met with 53 Japanese descendants at the Japanese ambassador's residence, telling them, “Let us hope that Japanese culture can spread (in Brazil).”
