Production of the upcoming live-action Hollywood film adaptation of “Tiger & Bunny” has gone into full swing with new partners hopping on board the much-anticipated project.

Bandai Namco Pictures Inc. has announced that in addition to Imagine Entertainment, it is partnering with Global Road Entertainment and Weed Road Pictures for the live-action project.

Produced by Sunrise Inc., the original anime is a superhero buddy story featuring enhanced individuals known as NEXT, who fight crime in the futuristic city of Stern Bild.

It was initially announced in October 2015 that the Hollywood live-action film adaptation would be produced, with celebrated director Ron Howard serving as executive producer and “true rising star” Ellen Shanman writing the screenplay.

With the latest additions, the film will be produced by top-notch filmmakers from Japan and Hollywood, including Masayuki Ozaki, a Bandai Namco Pictures member who also served as an executive producer for the original anime series; Brian Grazer, Howard and Erica Huggins of Imagine Entertainment; Lynn Harris of Global Road Entertainment; and Akiva Goldsman of Weed Road Pictures.

Of these, Goldsman is known for winning the Academy Award Best Adapted Screenplay for “A Beautiful Mind” in 2002, on which he teamed with Howard.

Ozaki said he was extremely honored to proceed with the project with dependable partners.
