Drone footage showed more details of the damage and destruction of railway and road bridges caused by torrential downpours in western Japan.

The swollen Misasagawa river in Hiroshima’s Asa-Kita Ward shattered a bridge on the Geibi Line operated by West Japan Railway Co. (JR West).

Drone footage taken by a survey team of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers on July 10 shows two bridge columns that collapsed in the floodwaters along with severed and twisted railway tracks.

The disaster also damaged a road bridge in a different part of the ward.
