Eva fans, this is it: the fourth and final installment in the “Evangelion” reboot film series will hit cinemas in 2020, Toei Co. has announced.

The film series that started in 2007 will be brought to an end with “Shin Evangelion Gekijo-ban:||” (“Evangelion: 3.0+1.0”), the film company said.

A special trailer is being shown at cinemas until Aug. 31.

The movies are based on the “Neon Genesis Evangelion” TV anime series that aired from 1995 to 1996, which was so popular that it became a social phenomenon.

The original TV series left many mysteries unsolved during its run, and was followed by an animated feature film released in 1997.

The reboot film series was launched to offer a different ending from the TV series and the movie. Previously, “Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone” came out in 2007, followed by “Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance” in 2009 and “Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo” in 2012.
