East Japan Railway Co. (JR East) announced on Sept. 30 that all trains in the area covering the capital area will suspend operations from 8 p.m. as Typhoon No. 24 approaches the Kanto region.
Some lines will be halted before 8 p.m. Some trains on part of the Chuo Line from Takao Station to the west will be suspended from 5 p.m. The Ueno-Tokyo Line and Shonan-Shinjuku Line will be halted after 6 p.m.
JR East is calling on all passengers to go home as early as possible.
Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai) announced that service on the Tokaido Shinkansen will also be suspended from 5 p.m.
