A trailer and new visuals for “Her Blue Sky” were unveiled ahead of the anime film's Oct. 11 Japan release.

Singer Aimyon will provide the film's theme song, it was also announced.

“Her Blue Sky” is being produced by the Cho Heiwa Busters creative team, known for the 2011 TV series “Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day,” and the 2015 feature film “The Anthem of the Heart.”

Director Tatsuyuki Nagai, screenwriter Mari Okada and character designer and animation supervisor Masayoshi Tanaka reprise their roles for “Her Blue Sky.”

Hiroyuki Shimizu, a chief producer on “Anohana” and “The Anthem of the Heart,” who also handled production planning on those films, will co-produce with Genki Kawamura. Kawamura's credits include Makoto Shinkai’s “Your Name.”

"Her Blue Sky" centers on Aoi and her older sister, Akane, who, after their parents are killed in an accident, move to a rural town.

One day, Akane’s ex-boyfriend, Shinnosuke, returns to the town after a 13-year absence.

Coinciding with this, Shinno, a character who is actually Shinnosuke from 13 years before, turns up after traveling through time.

Aoi begins to develop romantic feelings for Shinno, while Akane is reunited with Shinnosuke.
