Toyota Motor Corp. unveiled its first yacht under the high-end Lexus brand in the United States, a luxury cruiser that will carry a price tag of about 450 million yen ($4.2 million) in Japan.

Sales of the LY 650 model will start on Oct. 30. “LY” stands for “luxury yacht.”

The exterior features a round bow while the upscale interior is designed for comfort, according to Toyota.

The driver’s seats are set up in a salon equipped with sofas. The yacht, measuring 19.94 meters in length and 5.76 meters in width, also houses three bedrooms.

The air conditioning and lights can be operated via a smartphone. A marine diesel engine developed by the Volvo Group of Sweden powers the yacht.

“As a mobility company, we are pursuing new possibilities for mobility even on the sea,” Toyota President Akio Toyoda said in a press release.

The cruiser was jointly developed by the leading Japanese automaker and Marquis Yachts of the United States.

Toyota, which showed off the LY 650 in Florida on Sept. 19, is scheduled to market one yacht in Japan and six in United States and Canada a year.
