■Sharp to release see-through solar panels that can function as windows:
Sharp Corp. said it will release see-through solar panels on July 31 that can generate electricity while being used as window panes, wall exteriors, door awnings or barriers on balconies.
Instead of glass, the panels can be installed in a wider diversity of places at apartment buildings and commercial structures, making effective use of space to generate electricity, Sharp officials said July 22.
