■Kao forecasts \10-billion drop in sales due to Kanebo scandal：
Kao Corp. expects sales to plunge by 10 billion yen ($101 million) in fiscal 2013 due to a recall of skin lightening products that left white blotches and other blemishes on thousands of women.
The household products giant said at a news conference on July 30 that the recall of products by subsidiary Kanebo Cosmetics Inc. will hit the bottom line hard in the business year that ends in December.
