HOKKAIDO: 6 days of warm weather breaks record

SAPPORO--Wednesday marked the sixth consecutive day of temperatures exceeding 10 degrees, the longest streak of warm weather at this time of year since 1891, an observatory said.

The previous record--five days in a row--occurred 117 years ago. Records started to be kept in 1879, according to the Sapporo District Meteorological Observatory.(IHT/Asahi: March 27,2008)
