Bus takes road less traveled

A double-decker former London Transport bus is now a regular fixture on weekend services in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. On Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays, the bus--which is synonymous with the British capital--plies a route between JR Shimonoseki Station and the castle town of Chofu in 25 minutes. It passes the site of the former British Consulate along the way. It is the first time for a double-decker London bus in this country to run along a designated route regularly.(IHT/Asahi: April 7,2008)
