Senior citizens and people with disabilities have fun at a cherry blossom preview event Monday at a popular spot on the grounds of the Japan Mint in Osaka's Kita Ward. About 2,000 people were invited to the event before the 560-meter street lined with about 370 cherry trees is open to the public today. There are 125 varieties of trees, including four ``kodemari" cherry trees, which are rarely seen at other locations. The street is open to the public through April 22 between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. It will be open from 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.(IHT/Asahi: April 16,2008)
