KUJI, Iwate Prefecture--A praying mantis that lived 87 million years ago was found entombed in amber here, the first such find in Japan and only the eighth-known discovery in the world, officials said. Kuji is one of the world's largest producers of amber. The fossil is on display at the Kuji Amber Museum through June 22. The insect, which is about 1.4 centimeters long, is likely an unknown species, museum officials said.(IHT/Asahi: April 19,2008) ENGLISH
