OSAKA--The scandal-tainted restaurant operator Senba Kitcho has admitted that it had re-served food left untouched by customers at its main restaurant in Osaka's Chuo Ward. The prestigious ryotei operator, currently under civil rehabilitation proceedings, acknowledged Friday that it had served leftover dishes until its operation was suspended in November due to a mislabeling scandal. Managers at the restaurant said that untouched food was warmed up and served again to other customers when supplies were short. The recycling of servings had happened once every two or three weeks since former President Masanori Yuki, 74, had instructed the staff to "cut down on waste" six or seven years ago.(IHT/Asahi: May 5,2008) ENGLISH
