KABUL--Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura met here Sunday with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai and stressed that Japan will continue to give Afghanistan humanitarian aid and help in anti-terrorism measures. Komura said Tokyo will announce plans for more aid to the war-torn country at an international meeting on Afghan reconstruction in Paris in June. Tokyo so far has plans to offer more than $200 million (20 billion yen) at the Paris meeting. Komura's visit to Afghanistan was not announced for security reasons.(IHT/Asahi: May 6,2008) ENGLISH
