Hu mulls olympic flights from Tokyo

China will "consider positively" a proposal to allow chartered flights between Tokyo and Beijing during the Beijing Olympics in August, visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao told a bipartisan lawmakers group Friday in Tokyo.

Lower House Speaker Yohei Kono, who heads the group, asked Hu to increase landing and takeoff slots at the Beijing Capital International Airport to enable such flights.(IHT/Asahi: May 10,2008)
