HIROSHIMA--The eldest daughter of Ernesto "Che" Guevara on Thursday offered flowers to the monument for A-bomb victims here just as her legendary father did in 1959. Aleida Guevara, 47, flew into Japan for her first visit to the country on Wednesday at the invitation of citizens groups to mark the 80th anniversary of her late father's birth. Che Guevara, the hero of the 1959 Cuban Revolution, was reportedly shocked by the damage caused by the 1945 atomic bombing. Aleida Guevara, a physician at a Havana hospital, will talk about her father and Cuba's medical and social institutions during her five-city tour.(IHT/Asahi: May 16,2008) ENGLISH
