The Fair Trade Commission is investigating the importer of Britain's Filofax datebooks on suspicion that in-store displays of samples are misleading consumers, sources said Friday. Britain's Union Jack is used by the datebooks' importer on display plates but the datebook is actually made in China. In addition, it does not state "made in China" on its exterior. The fair trade watchdog is considering issuing an order to the Tokyo-based import agent, Nihon SiberHegner KK, to end its practice on grounds that it misrepresents the place of origin.(IHT/Asahi: May 17,2008) ENGLISH
