THE ASAHI SHIMBUN
Seiko Watch Corp. has unveiled a dazzling gold and lacquer wristwatch with a price tag to match: 52.5 million yen, tax included.
The piece is designed in the style of the Konjikido (golden hall) at Chusonji temple in Hiraizumi, Iwate Prefecture.
The Credor Juri Tenga watch was jointly created by a South Korean lacquerware craftsman living in the prefecture and Seiko's watch craft center, also based there.(IHT/Asahi: May 22,2008)
