MSDF refueling mission extended

The Cabinet on Friday extended the Maritime Self-Defense Force's refueling mission in the Indian Ocean to Jan. 15, 2010.

The six-month extension was made under the special measures law that allows Japanese vessels to refuel ships of countries involved in anti-terrorism efforts. The current replenishment activities were to end July 15.(IHT/Asahi: July 4,2009)
