For most Japanese people, the musical instrument that comes to mind when they think of Myanmar (Burma) is the harp. I read a translated collection of Myanmar short stories and came across the following saying: "Play the harp near a buffalo." It is a metaphor representing the problematic obstinacy of people who refuse to even listen to sincere advice.
