EDITORIAL: Time to lift ban on Internet use for election campaigns

On the eve of the Dec. 4 start of official campaigning for the Dec. 16 Lower House election, many candidates posted a similar message on their websites and Twitter and Facebook accounts: "I will stop updating until the election is over." The same messages also appeared before previous elections.
