The 30th anniversary 2008 Tokyo International Women¡Çs Marathon

Course: National Stadium - Omori Kaigan police station (turning point): 42.195 km (JAAF-certified Tokyo International Women's Marathon course)
Qualification:
[ International Division ]
1.  Applicants must be at least 19 years of age on the day of the race and must be JAAF-registered athlete for the year 2008.
(1)  Athletes must meet the designated time standard as follows. Qualifying times must be run on or after November 1, 2006 at a certified races.
    [1]  Marathon: 3 hours or faster
    [2] 30 km( 30,000 m): 2 hours 10 minutes or faster
    [3] Half marathon: 1 hour 25 minutes or faster
    [4] 20 km(20,000 m): 1 hour15 minutes or faster
  (2) Athletes recommended by the JAAF and the organizers
2. Athletes invited by the JAAF
   
[ Citizen Division ]
1.  Applicants must be at least 19 years of age on the day of the race. Registration with the JAAF is not mandatory. Qualifications for overseas entrants are the same as for Japanese.
(1)  Athletes must meet the designated time standard as follows. Qualifying times must be run on or after November 1, 2006 at a certified races.
    [1]  Marathon: 3 hours 30 minutes or faster
    [2] 30 km( 30,000 m): 2 hours 20 minutes or faster
    [3] Half Marathon: 1 hours 35 minutes or faster
    [4] 20 km (20,000 m): 1 hour 30 minutes or faster
  (2) Athletes recommended by the organizers
 
* Field size limit is 1,000 in total. If more than 1,000 runners registered, the organizers will select by the following criteria:
(1) Athletes who met the time standard of international division are given priority than athletes of citizen division.
(2) Athletes who met the time standard of [1] Marathon are given first priority, secondly [2]30km. thirdly [3]Half Marathon, and [4]20km is the fourth.
(3) Athletes who ran the faster time are given priority in the same category(marathon/30km/half marathon/20km) .
 
Competition rules:
1.  The marathon will be governed by the 2008 JAAF Competition Rules and Tokyo International Women's Marathon Regulations.
2. Start: Wave 1 start =12:10, Wave 2 start = 12:18
3. For traffic and security reasons and also for management of the race, checkpoints will be closed after the cut-off times. Runners will also be required to cease competing at places other than the checkpoints if their progress is conspicuously slow.
Entry fee: ¥5,000 per person
Registration: Fill in the entry form, obtain the approval of the prefectural/national athletics federation, and send it to the address below with a record certificate (a copy will suffice) and entry fee by registered mail. Registration closes on September 5 (Fri), 2008.
* Entrants who are not registered with JAAF can enter the race (City Level) without the approval of the prefectural athletics federation. However, in such cases the record will not be certified by the JAAF.

[ International Division ] (Special Runners)
Top eight finishers, top Japanese finnishers and one promising Japanese runner will receive awards.
 
[ Citizen Division ] (General Runners)
Top eight finishers will receive awards.

Others:
1.  Information about distribustion of Number cards will be anounced to each participants later.
2. The organizers will not perform health checks. Runners are requested to take responsibility for their health condition.The organizers will provide first aid in case of accidents that might occur during the race, but will not be responsible for subsequent treatment.Japanese runners must bring their health insurance certificate (a copy will suffice).
3. Those wishing to make a prior survey of the course are requested to be at the front entrance of the National Stadium at 9:30 a.m. on November 15 (Sat.).
4. Confirmed participants who have to withdraw before the race are requested to tell the race official by the document. Entry-fee is non-refundable.
